Five well-known AI assistants open to a working prompt box without an account in October 2026: ChatGPT in guest mode, Gemini, Duck.ai, Perplexity and Mistral’s Vibe. Duck.ai is the best choice if you care about privacy, ChatGPT and Gemini are the quickest big-name options, and Perplexity is the one to pick when you want sources. Microsoft Copilot and Claude still push you to sign in, so they do not belong on a no-account list.

Key takeaway

Duck.ai is the best no-account pick for privacy, ChatGPT and Gemini are the quickest way to start, and Perplexity adds sources. Copilot and Claude still ask you to sign in.

Summarize this article with:

We opened every tool below on October 23, 2026 from a European connection and checked whether a prompt box appeared with no login wall. On October 4, 2026, we had also sent a real message without an account to ChatGPT and Gemini, and Copilot asked us to log in as soon as we sent our first one. Guest access is rolled out country by country, so what you see in the US can differ slightly.

ChatGPT guest mode: the fastest start

ChatGPT home page in guest mode with the Ask ChatGPT box and Log in and Sign up buttons
chatgpt.com on October 23, 2026: the prompt box is live while Log in and Sign up for free sit in the corner.

Open chatgpt.com, type a question and send it. That is the whole procedure, and it is why ChatGPT is the default answer to “which AI can I use without an account”. The page asks you to log in to create images and upload files, so guest mode is for text: drafts, translations, summaries and brainstorming. The page footer also says chats may be reviewed and used to improve OpenAI’s models, which is a reason to keep private details out of guest sessions.

OpenAI does not publish the model or the message quota behind guest mode, so expect it to be capped and sometimes slower than a signed-in session. If you hit a wall, our guide on using ChatGPT without logging in covers the steps and the limits in detail.

Gemini: Google’s assistant without a Google account

gemini.google.com signed out on October 23, 2026, with a Flash-Lite model shown next to the prompt box.

Gemini opens straight to a prompt box with a Flash-Lite model selected, and the sidebar nudges you with “Sign in to save activity”. Our October 4 test got an answer with no sign-in. Signed out, Gemini does not save your history, and in our earlier check Google steered us to an account for image creation and Google app features. Google also does not detail the guest quota.

It works well for a quick factual question or a short rewrite. You will see a Google cookie dialog first, and choosing “Reject all” declines the optional tracking and still leaves you with the prompt box.

Duck.ai: private chat with six free models

Duck.ai home page with the Ask anything privately prompt box and a model selector
Duck.ai on October 23, 2026: no login, a model selector in the prompt box and a note that DuckDuckGo anonymizes chats.

DuckDuckGo’s chat service sits between you and the model makers. Its help pages say metadata such as your IP address is removed before a request reaches the provider, that providers cannot use the chats to train their models, and that DuckDuckGo does not record your conversations. That makes Duck.ai the strongest privacy choice here, as long as you remember that anonymous does not mean you should paste secrets.

The free tier, according to DuckDuckGo’s model list, covers Anthropic’s Claude 4.5 Haiku, Mistral Small 4, OpenAI’s GPT-6 Luna and GPT-5.4 mini, and the open models gpt-oss-120b and Gemma 4 31B. Paid plans add stronger models. Free use has a daily limit that DuckDuckGo does not put a number on, and the help page notes you may hit it early on a VPN or a mobile network. Because you can switch model in a click, Duck.ai is also a handy place to ask one question to several models.

Perplexity: answers with sources

Perplexity home page with the Ask anything search box and a Sign In link, no login required to search
Perplexity on October 23, 2026: the search box works while the Sign In link stays in the sidebar.

Perplexity searches the web and writes a short answer with the sources attached, which is the reason to use it over a plain chatbot. The home page lets you search without logging in; a pop-up offers to “save and sync your searches” if you sign up, and you can close it. For a one-off research question you do not need an account, only if you want to keep a history.

Reports on the exact number of advanced searches you get as a guest disagree, and Perplexity does not publish a stable figure, so we will not quote one. Treat the free tier as generous for everyday lookups and limited for deep research.

Mistral Vibe: the European option

Mistral Vibe chat page with an Ask anything box and Sign in and Sign up buttons
Mistral’s assistant at chat.mistral.ai on October 23, 2026, under its new name Vibe.

Mistral AI, the French company, renamed its Le Chat assistant to Vibe at the end of May 2026, according to Wikipedia and the German tech site Heise. The address is still chat.mistral.ai. On our visit the page opened on an “Ask anything” box with optional Sign in and Sign up buttons, but a dialog said you must accept the Vibe terms of service and privacy policy before using it. We did not accept them or send a prompt, so we have not tested the replies.

Mistral does not publish exact free-plan limits on the page we saw. If you like the idea of a European provider, you can also reach Mistral’s small model inside Duck.ai, which needs no sign-up at all.

Arena: one prompt, two anonymous models

Arena home page with the Ask anything prompt box and the Battle mode selector
Arena’s home page on October 23, 2026, with Battle mode selected by default.

Arena, formerly LMArena, answers the question “is there a free website with several AI models in one place?” better than most. In Battle mode you send one prompt, two unnamed models reply, and you vote for the better answer before the names are revealed. The home page showed no login wall on October 23, though we did not send a prompt and cannot say whether it asks for an account later.

Two cautions apply. Arena’s FAQ says conversations can be used in public research datasets and shared with model providers after de-identification, so keep personal details out. And it is built for comparing models, not for long working sessions. Our LMArena guide explains how the voting and the leaderboard work.

Perchance: free image generation with no account

Perchance AI image generator form with a description box, an art style menu and a generate button
Perchance’s text-to-image page on October 23, 2026: a description box, an art style menu and one button.

Chatbots are only half the story, since many people searching for no-sign-up AI want pictures. Perchance’s image generator opened on a bare form on October 23, 2026: describe the picture, choose an art style such as “Painted Anime”, and press generate. The page title itself reads “AI Image Generator (free, no sign-up, unlimited)”.

That wording is Perchance’s own claim. We did not generate an image, so we cannot vouch for speed, quality or any hidden limit, and we did not read its terms on commercial use. Check those before you use an image for anything beyond a personal test. ChatGPT and Gemini, by contrast, point image creation to signed-in users.

Tools that still ask for an account

Microsoft Copilot’s home page opened on a “Sign into Copilot” screen on October 23, 2026, and on October 4 it demanded a login as soon as we sent our first message. Claude’s website sends visitors to a sign-in page offering Google, Apple, email or single sign-on, and it shows a free plan at $0 once you have an account.

What you give up when you skip the account

  • History. Close the tab and the conversation is gone. Copy anything you want to keep.
  • Files and images. ChatGPT and Gemini keep uploads and image creation for signed-in users.
  • Quotas. Duck.ai confirms a daily cap without giving a number, and we found no published guest limit for ChatGPT, Gemini or Mistral.
  • Personalization. There is no memory of your preferences from one session to the next.
  • Model choice. Gemini’s guest box is set to its Flash-Lite model, and ChatGPT does not say which model guests get.

Privacy is mixed. Skipping the account means less personal data attached to your prompts, but it does not stop a provider from reading them. ChatGPT’s page says chats may be used to improve its models, while Duck.ai says it strips identifying metadata and that providers may not train on the chats. When a tool matters to your daily work, a free account unlocks history and steadier limits, and our comparison of ChatGPT free vs Plus shows when paying makes sense.

Which one to pick for your task

  • Private or sensitive-ish questions: Duck.ai.
  • A fast draft, translation or summary: ChatGPT guest mode or Gemini.
  • Researching a topic with sources: Perplexity.
  • Comparing how different models answer: Duck.ai or Arena.
  • A European provider: Mistral Vibe.
  • Pictures: Perchance, keeping in mind that we have not generated an image with it ourselves.
  • Video: see our list of free AI video generators with no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI can you use without an account?

ChatGPT in guest mode, Gemini, Duck.ai, Perplexity and Mistral’s Vibe all opened to a prompt box without a login when we checked on October 23, 2026. Microsoft Copilot opened on a sign-in screen, and Claude asks for an account.

Which AI tool is best for beginners?

ChatGPT’s guest mode is the easiest start, because you open the page and type. Gemini is just as simple. Duck.ai is a good second step once you want to compare models or keep your IP address out of the request.

Is there a free website that offers all AI models in one?

Not literally all, but two come close. Duck.ai lets you switch between six free models, including ones from Anthropic, OpenAI and Mistral. Arena pits two anonymous models against each other on any prompt you type.

Which AI is better than ChatGPT and free?

No tool wins everywhere. Perplexity is stronger when you need sources, Gemini is competitive on quick questions, and Duck.ai lets you test several models on one prompt. Ask the same question in two of them and keep the answer you trust.

Which free AI is best for everything?

None is best for everything, and none is unlimited. For a general-purpose start, ChatGPT or Gemini will cover most requests, while Duck.ai suits private questions and Perplexity suits research.

Are my chats private without an account?

Only partly. Without an account, less personal information is attached to your prompts. Duck.ai says it removes metadata such as your IP address and that chats are not used for training, while ChatGPT’s page says chats may be reviewed and used to improve its models. Avoid sharing sensitive data with any assistant.

Can I generate images without signing up?

Apparently yes. Perchance’s image generator opened with no login on October 23, 2026 and describes itself as free, no sign-up and unlimited, although we did not generate an image to confirm it. ChatGPT’s home page points image creation to logged-in users.
