Those are intro prices: Basic renews at $139.08 a year, about $11.59 a month. Below you will find what each plan costs, what you pay once the first term ends, how the Black Friday and Cyber Monday phases work, and the legitimate ways to pay less.

NordVPN plans and prices, October 2026

There are three tiers, and the VPN is the same in all of them. What you pay extra for are the security tools around it. Every plan carries a 30-day money-back guarantee and allows 10 devices at once. Here is the 2-year term, which has the lowest monthly price:

The monthly figure is an average: $94.23 for 27 months works out to $3.49. Basic is the VPN alone. Complete adds a next-gen antivirus, ad and tracker blocking, bank transaction monitoring, email, phone, credit card and ID/SSN monitoring, call and message protection, a password manager (NordPass) and 1 TB of cloud storage. Prime adds Coveron advanced identity protection on top, with additional terms.

What it costs in euros, and on shorter terms

Readers in the eurozone see the same structure in euros, and the top tier is called Ultimate Max there instead of Prime. We read NordVPN’s English pricing page in euros on October 23, 2026. We did not read pound prices for the UK, and we did not read the 1-year plan in US dollars, so those figures are left out rather than guessed.

The pattern is the same in every currency: the longer you commit, the less you pay per month, and the first term is the cheap one. The 1-year plan is a fair middle road if you are not sure you will still want a VPN in two years.

What NordVPN costs after the intro term

Look closely at the table above. The crossed-out price on Basic, $312.93, is exactly 27 months at $11.59, which is the renewal rate. The “regular price” NordVPN shows is the price you will pay after the first term. The same holds for Complete ($18.29 a month) and Prime ($24.69 a month).

Here is what the first three years look like if you let the plan renew and the renewal price does not change. NordVPN’s support pages say the renewal price can change and that it emails you before renewing, as we read them on October 5, 2026.

That makes Basic about $6 a month over three years, not $3.49. Nothing here is hidden, since the renewal price sits in small print on the plan card, but you have to look for it.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026: the NordVPN phases

NordVPN has announced its 2026 sales in dated phases. This comes from NordVPN’s official partner communication of October 21, 2026 and the banner on nordvpn.com on October 22 and 23. Black Friday is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30.

Is it worth waiting? The announced drop for Basic is from €3.49 to €2.99 a month, about 50 cents. If you need a VPN now, the current 78% off is a good deal and waiting saves little, unless the exclusive-week dollar price turns out lower than the euro one suggests. How to pay less for NordVPN

• Buy the tier you will use. Basic is enough for a VPN. Complete and Prime only pay off if you would otherwise buy the antivirus, password manager or storage separately.
• Pick the term by risk. The 2-year plan is the cheapest per month, but you pay up front. The 1-year plan costs more per month and commits you to less money.
• Turn off auto-renewal right after you buy. In your Nord Account, open Billing, click Cancel next to Auto-renewal and confirm. NordVPN emails a confirmation. Put the end date in your calendar so you decide on purpose. Steps are on NordVPN’s support page; purchases made through the Apple, Google or Amazon app stores are cancelled in those stores.
• Do not double-pay for a password manager. If the main draw of Complete is the password manager, NordPass on its own is $1.39 a month on the 2-year plan (read October 23, 2026). Our NordPass review shows what you get for that.
• Compare at renewal time. When the first term ends, check what new customers pay and what other VPNs charge before you let the card be billed.

Is NordVPN too expensive?

At the intro price, NordVPN sits in the middle to upper range of the big VPN brands. At the renewal rate it gets expensive: $11.59 a month for Basic is a lot for a service you could replace. Judge it by the total over the period you will really use it, not by the first month.

Every plan on the pricing page carries a 30-day money-back guarantee. According to NordVPN’s support pages as we read them on October 5, 2026, it applies to new subscriptions, not to renewals unless local law requires it, and you ask for it through the support chat. Purchases made in an app store follow that store’s rules.

There is no permanent free plan. NordVPN has advertised a free trial on Android through Google Play, with a length that varies and a payment method required. Treat anything claiming a free NordVPN account for life as a scam.
